Abstract

A new northern limit for the distribution of Urotrygon cimar López y Bussing, 1998 is confirmed for the Pacific coast of Mexico. One specimen of U. cimar was caught off the Central Pacific coast of Mexico, approximately 2000 km north of its current known range. This is the first confirmation of this species within this region, confirming that the range of U. cimar is much broader than the distribution reported in the literature.
