A specimen of Periophthalmodon septemradiatus was caught and photographed on 16 September 2017 in the Musi River, South Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This specimen represents range extension of P. septemradiatus for mainland Sumatra, which extends the species range 450 km south of its currently known distribution.
