Résumé

Our histological study, based on thin sections of undecalcified material, confirms the acellularity of bone in Scomber scombrus. The primary pseudolamellar bone shows some secondary vascular canals limited by relatively thin secondary bony layers. The teeth have a normal histological organization: a cone of orthodentine with an apical cap of enameloid. They also show dentine pleats in the pulp cavity that characterizes a simplexodont plicidentine organization as many other predatory teleosts.
