Résumé

The Ecuadorian deep-sea scorpionfish, Trachyscorpia verai, is formally recorded for the first time in Peru. The record is made from five specimens caught during a trawl survey using the swept area method off Punta Sal-Tumbes (Peru, Tropical Eastern Pacific). This is the second species of Trachyscorpia known from Peru and the third from the South Eastern Pacific (SEP). Information is provided about the biology of this little-known species, in particular on the diet, parasitism, and gonadal maturation.
