Abstract

The cichlid genus Tristramella has been known from the lakes Tiberias, Muzarib and Hula in the Jordan River drainage and from the lakes east of Damascus. New field surveys revealed that T. simonis is more widespread in the upper Jordan basin and is introduced and well established in the Orontes and the Nahr al Kabir (N) in Syria.
