Résumé

The Indo-Pacific largescaled terapon, Terapon theraps Cuvier, 1829 (Terapontidae), is reported on the basis of an alive specimen, in the inshore area of Thermaikos gulf (Macedonia, Greece). This is the second record for the whole Mediterranean and the first for the Aegean Sea. Identification, origin and spreading processes – ballast water being very probable for its transportation – are also discussed.
