European eels, Anguilla anguilla, do not mature in captivity, so the development of methods for its reproduction is necessary in order to face the demands for elvers from eel farms and to reduce the pressure on natural populations. Our group has developed several techniques in the attempt to improve the control of reproduction in this species.
