Résumé

An anti-androgen assay was developed using spiggin levels and reproductive behaviour in the male threepined stickleback, Gasterosteus aculeatus, as endpoints. Here we present the results using flutamide (FL) and fenitrothion (FN), two compounds with anti-androgenic properties. Reduction in both spiggin levels and in number of nests was observed with increasing concentrations of the chemicals, suggesting a significant adverse effect of anti-androgens on the biology of the stickleback.
