Two hundred and twenty four fish were caught over a 19 month period to investigate the reproductive cycle of Labrus bergylta in Norway. The gonadosomatic index of wild-caught L. bergylta was greatest during late-spring, this also coincided with the peak plasma levels of 11 ketotestosterone in male fish.
