Résumé

A bluespotted cornetfish, Fistularia commersonii was caught off Algiers, on central region of the Algerian coast, southwestern Mediterranean. The specimen was a female measuring 853 mm in total length including filament, and weighed 380 g. Fistularia commersonii is the first teleost Lessepsian migrant identified in the Algerian waters. This capture shows a rapid western extension range of the distribution of the species from the eastern Levantin basin, since it is the first Mediterranean record, in year 2000. The occurrence of the species off the Algerian coast and the present distribution of the species in the Mediterranean Sea are commented and discussed in this note.
