Résumé

The second known specimen of Bothus swio, previously known only from the holotype from the western Indian Ocean (off Mozambique), is reported from the eastern Indian Ocean (northwestern Australia). Preliminary comparisons of morphological data between Bothus swio, other Bothus species and other Bothinae genera indicated a distant phylogenetic relationship of B. swio to other members of Bothus. The generic placement of B. swio needs further evaluation.
