The first occurrence of Chromogobius britoi in Galician waters is reported on the basis of underwater surveys and scuba diver photographs. These records represent a range extension of the species distribution and the northernmost confirmed record ever reported in the Atlantic Ocean. Although it is considered a rare species, it is probably more regularly distributed in the Northeastern Atlantic Ocean, where suitable habitats are available.
