Résumé

Sidi Salem dam (Northern Tunisia) hosts two introduced predatory fish species: the pike-perch, Sander lucioperca, and the catfish, Silurus glanis. We examined the stomach contents of 162 S. glanis and 547 S. lucioperca specimens sampled along two years from four different stations in the dam reservoir. Both species were found to feed mainly on teleost fishes, with the cyprinids Sarmarutilus rubilio and Scardinius erythrophthalmus as the main preys. One species of crustacean and insect larvae were found to be occasionally consumed. The comparison of vacuity index revealed differences only between juveniles and adults of S. lucioperca collected in the upstream station during winter. Considering the diet composition, no significant difference was found depending on age, sex, seasons and stations in each species. Finally, the two predators display the same diet.
