Résumé

Previously undocumented cleaning behavior of fishes in the arrow crab Stenorhynchus lanceolatus was observed in the Canary Islands. The cleaning behavior of the wrasses, Thalassoma pavo and Coris julis, and the shrimp Lysmata grabhami are documented. Comparisons are made between species of fish that act as cleaners in the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean Sea. A table listing 132 cleaners world wide with updated taxonomic names and geographic distributions is included.
