Abstract

Two adult specimens of Anarhichas denticulatus (Krøyer, 1845) were caught for the first time in the southern area of the Bay of Biscay (NE Atlantic). The southernmost published record of this species in the NE Atlantic was in 1986 in Irish waters (Porcupine Bank). These new records extend 1228 km to the south the known distribution range of this species and provide more information on some biological aspects.
