The bluespotted cornetfish is considered the champion of lessepsian invasions. In the 2000s, after an exponential growth of its populations in the Eastern Mediterranean, it became abundant in fishery landings in this region. In this study, we report the first catch of two individuals of the bluespotted cornetfish in the Bay of Marseille (France, Bouches-du-Rhone) in October 2016, constituting the most northwesterly catch in the Mediterranean Sea. This species is an active piscivorous predator. The individual sampled, a 99 cm TL female, had consumed six fish belonging to three genera: Spicara, Symphodus and Atherina.
