Abstract

Records of fishes found recently on the Mediterranean coast of Israel are presented. Arius thalassinus, Rachycentron canadum and Pempheris vanicolensis are of Red Sea origin and their presence is attributed to the proximity of the Suez Canal. Caranx dentex, Dentex maroccanus and Chromogobius quadrivittatus are known from the adjacent regions of the Mediterranean Sea.
